BackgroundPituitary apoplexy (PA) is a rare clinical syndrome, usually occurring in the pituitary adenoma due to a sudden bleeding and/or infarction. PA is usually seen in nonfunctional pituitary adenomas, but it can also be seen in ACTH secreting macroadenomas.
